Grey’s Anatomy is about to lose another doctor. Word is that T.R. Knight, who was involved in an altercation with Isaiah Washington over homosexual slurs, has asked to be written out of the popular show.
The exact details of why Knight wants to leave are still unknown. Some speculate that Knight is frustrated with receiving little screen time and is ready to move on. There has also been no word from ABC as to whether producers will honor his request.

After causing a stir as a “pregnant man,” Thomas Beatie and wife Nancy are at it again. It must take a lot to floor a veteran journalist like Barbara Walters, but that is just what Beatie did during his recent interview with her on “The View” by revealing that he is pregnant again. Walters said she was “speechless” after learning about the second pregnancy. The new baby is expected in June 2009.

Beatie, who was born a woman, but became transsexual without having his reproductive organs removed, gave birth to the couple’s first child, Susan, in July. His wife Nancy was unable to carry the couple’s children due to a hysterectomy, so Beatie volunteered.

In case you missed it, presidential candidate John McCain appeared on Saturday Night Live last night with Sarah Palin – okay, it was really Tina Fey, but close enough.

(This work is in the public domain in the United States because it is a work of the United States Federal Government under the terms of Title 17, Chapter 1, Section 105 of the US Code.)
The Republican candidate joked about doing a “double maverick,” where he goes berserk and freaks out everyone, “even the regular mavericks.” He also made fun of the fact that his campaign is cash-strapped and joked that while opponent Barack Obama could afford to purchase a half hour of airtime on television, he could only afford an appearance on QVC.
With only three days left until the election, maybe McCain was hoping the appearance would stir up a few more votes for him. His running mate, the real Sarah Palin appeared on the show on October 18th.

It caused her to miss last night show, but I am sure this event is much more important. Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update co-anchor Amy Poehler gave birth to her first child Saturday night in New York, causing her to miss the live show.

The baby, a son named Archie Arnett, weighed in at 8 pounds, 1 ounce. A statement released said that the mom and child are both healthy and resting. Amy had been attending SNL rehearsals right up until Friday night.
Amy appeared as a surrogate mother in this year’s movie “Baby Mama” alongside fellow SNL alum Tina Fey.

Oh sure, the country song of the same name was good, but I am not so sure about the newest CBS reality show. “Live Like You’re Dying” was created by and will be hosted by “Survivor” veteran Jeff Probst, but the premise seems like a bit of a downer to me. The show will feature the “last adventure” of a terminally ill patient’s life and also include reunions with estranged family and friends.

Probst says the focus will not be on the person’s illness, but rather how the patient lives what time she or he has left to the fullest. I just cannot help but think the whole idea, while wonderful in concept, will just be depressing to watch. How can you watch a dying person on an adventure and not worry about what happens next? This isn’t like “Extreme Makeover,” which inevitably makes me cry – chances are, there are no happy endings for these people.
What do you think about this new show?

Is the match made in comedy heaven back on? It would appear so as funnyman Jimmy Kimmel and comedienne Sarah Silverman were seen dining together at LA’s Pattaya Thai Restaurant. The two were also seen together at Howard Stern’s wedding last Friday.

The couple ended their five year long relationship in July, much to the amazement of many. A source told PEOPLE magazine that the two are “taking it slow” to try to rebuild their relationship. Neither comic had a comment on their current relationship status. Comedy Central will premiere the new season of “The Sarah Silverman Show” this week.

In addition to dance pro Karina Smirnoff twisting her ankle and comedian Jeffrey Ross scratching his cornea, volleyball gold medalist Misty May-Treanor has now been injured on this season’s Dancing with the Stars. There were rumors that she broke her ankle after the Friday injury, but an ABC statement said that was untrue.

The statement didn’t say what injury she sustained, just that she is “resting comfortably at home” and that the doctors would determine if she could continue on Monday. However, Access Hollywood is reporting that the Olympian needs surgery and will have to pull out of the show. Actress Beverley Mitchell, who played middle child Lucy Camden on the WB hit show “7th Heaven”, has gotten married to her fiancé, accountant Michael Cameron, in the most romantic of places – Italy! The couple, engaged since New Year’s Eve 2005, had 100 guests attend their wedding in Ravello on Wednesday.
The bride, sporting a 3.5 carat yellow diamond ring by Louis Glick, wore a Melissa Sweet gown and the groom wore a Kenneth Cole tux. Among her bridesmaids were her television sisters Jessica Biel (who was there with boyfriend Justin Timberlake) and Mackenzie Rosman. Mitchell was also featured Saw II.

I don’t know if I believe this one, but Academy Award winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow has said that she doesn’t have a personal chef to cook for her family. Gwyneth said “I cook all the meals for my house. I really love to cook.” I love to cook too, but if I had her money, I think I’d have a personal chef…just in case.

Gwyneth stars in a new PBS series titled “Spain…On The Road Again” in which she and former Iron Chef America star Mario Batali. The show features the two as they enjoy the culinary pleasures of Spain. (Photo source by Raquel Casas / 20 Minutos and is licensed under Creative Commons “Attribution-ShareAlike 2.1 Spain“)

The actors of FX’s controversial show “Nip/Tuck” want more – more money! Stars of the show Julian McMahon (Dr. Christian Troy) and Dylan Walsh (Dr. Sean McNamara) are hoping to see their salaries double to almost $250,000 per episode. Other regulars, including Joely Richardson (Julia McNamara), Kelly Carlson (Kimber Henry), and Roma Maffia (Dr. Liz Cruz), also want hefty increases.
McMahon and Walsh have brought in Marty Singer, who represented many from “The Sopranos,” to help with the negotiations. The actors argue that while free to take other jobs, others might be hesitant to hire them while still attached to “Nip/Tuck.”
