Michael Crichton Dies at 66
Michael Crichton, the author who brought us “Jurassic Park,” The Andromeda Strain,” “Sphere’, and “Rising Sun” as well as the popular, long running television series “ER” has died.
Crichton liked to write about science gone wrong, with “Jurassic Park” bringing dangerous dinosaurs back to life and “The Andromeda Strain” being about an alien microorganism that kills. Crichton drew from his own medical experience (he obtained his M.D. from Harvard in 1969) to help make “ER” on of the most realistic medical series ever on television.
He had been fighting a “courageous and private battle with cancer” according to his publicist.
