Dr. Dre’s Son Andre Found Dead
Dr. Dre, (André Romelle Young) a founding member of N.W.A. and known for his groundbreaking solo debut The Chronic, is mourning the death of his twenty year old son Andre Jr. Andre was found dead by his mother in their Woodland Hills home on Saturday. He had spent Friday night with friends, but returned home around 5:20 am Saturday morning. When his mother attempted to wake Andre at 10:30 am, he was unresponsive. Paramedics who came to the scene tried to revive him, but pronounced him dead at the home.
Although an autopsy is being performed today, it is doubtful that a cause of death will be known until after the toxicology tests come back, which takes about eight weeks. Foul play is not suspected.
Dr. Dre has a son from a teenage relationship (Curtis, who goes by the rap name Hood Surgeon), a son with singer Michel’le (Marcel), and two daughter from his marriage to Nicole Threatt (Truth and Truly).
