Matt Grant is Bachelorized Again!

Published by lpelham at 5:45 am under Reality Television, Television Edit This

Well, I don’t want to say I told them so, but I did! I wanted to scream “No” at the television when Matt Grant, the latest “Bachelor,” choose blond bimbette Shayne Lamas (daughter of Lorenzo) as his mate. When he got down on one knee to propose, it all just seemed wrong. The whole “monkey” thing just made me nauseous.

And as it turns out, I was right. The “actress” and the British bachelor have called off their engagement. They issued a statement that read, “We tried hard to make it work but we realized that we were both heading in different directions. We truly care about each other and will remain close friends.” Ugh, please. I wonder if Shayne returned the huge diamond bling that the block put on her finger in May?

So, what was the deal? Did Matt really not know any better or did he just have stars in his eyes? He certainly was charming and I wouldn’t have a problem with seeing him on television again. Did he think Shayne could help with this?

My opinion on this is that I feel sad for the couple it’s never nice for any couple to split espescially when they are in the eye of the public and everything. I think people care about people suffering and that they enjoy watching celebrities split or is it simply because I’m too caring.

I think the whole idea of finding a spouse on t.v. is pretty flawed. The producers pick a group of women they think will make the show interesting. So, in that select group, there’s at least one mean girl, a self centered brat and a woman who actually is there for a career boost. And then there’s the fact that the guy’s soul mate could be a short, dumpy woman with a wonderful sense of humor, but he’ll never see someone like that on the show because they are all tall, model pretty women.

Maybe these guys need to skip the t.v. appearances and go to an old fashioned matchmaker instead!
