Sex and the City to be Tainted by Miley Cyrus?
Okay, I will admit that I am 45-year-old woman with no daughter to suck me into the circus that is Miley Cyrus. But am I the only one that is just tired of this girl?
I read today that Miley would love to do a “younger, cleaner version of Sex and the City.” She went on to say, “I like to think of myself as the girl that no one can get, that no one can keep in their hand.” Okay, first of all, if it was a younger, cleaner version, it wouldn’t be very Sex and the City, now would it? The whole thing that made Sex and the City so special was it involved women in their thirties (okay, Samantha was in her forties, but she feigned thirties very well) who were open and honest about their sex lives. And Carrie didn’t long to be the girl that didn’t get caught – she longed to be the girl that met the man of her dreams and fell in love.
If you take all that away, you get – well, I started to say “The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” but even Mary Richards had a groundbreaking independence for her time. What Miley Cyrus is describing sounds like a Disney movie.
Speaking of Disney movies, if you cannot get enough of Miley (and you think this whole clean Sex and the City thing is a good idea), you can watch her film Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert on the Disney channel on July 26.
Personally, I would rather be watching reruns of Sex and the City.
